"Maalik", headlined by Rajkummar Rao, has earned over Rs 15 crore nett at the domestic box office in three days, the makers announced on Monday.

Directed by Pulkit of “Bhakshak” fame, the film was released in theatres on July 11. It is produced by Kumar Taurani under the Tips Films banner and Jay Shewakramani's Northern Lights Films.

Set against the gritty backdrop of 1980s Allahabad, the action thriller is a hard-hitting tale of ambition, power, and survival that explores the price of rising in a world ruled by guns, greed, and loyalty.

It features Rao, also known for “Shahid”, “Newton”, “Stree”, and “Srikanth”, in the role of a gangster.

Production banner shared the box office numbers on its official X handle. The poster had a day-wise breakdown of the collection.

The film opened with Rs 4.02 crore nett and went on to earn Rs 5.45 crore and Rs 5.55 crore on the following days, respectively. The total collection of the film stands at Rs 15.02 crore nett at the domestic box office.

"Maalik" also stars Manushi Chhillar alongside Rao. The music for the film has been composed by Sachin–Jigar and Ketan Sodha.
