Rajkumar Hirani's son Vir to debut with OTT series 'Pritam and Pedro'

Rajkumar Hirani's son Vir Hirani will make his acting debut with "Pritam and Pedro", an upcoming show created by the filmmaker.

Mumbai | Rajkumar Hirani's son Vir Hirani will make his acting debut with "Pritam and Pedro", an upcoming show created by the filmmaker.

The series, which will premiere on JioHotstar on July 3, is the first OTT project from the acclaimed director, known for hit movies such as "Munna Bhai MBBS", "Lage Raho Munna Bhai", "3 Idiots", "PK", "Sanju" and "Dunki".

Vir, who earlier acted in short films such as "Yoon Hota Toh", "The Doctor Will See You Now" and "Apna Apna Andaz", will feature alongside Arshad Warsi and Boman Irani, who were integral part of Hirani's "Munna Bhai" franchise as well as Vikrant Massey and Mona Singh.

According to the makers, the show will bring Hirani's signature blend of warmth, emotion and human storytelling into the long format space.

The show is directed by Avinash Arun, who is known for directing "Paatal Lok", "School of Lies" and acclaimed films such as "Killa" and "Three of Us".

The makers have also released a teaser for the show and offers a glimpse into a quirky world where "data meets danda, chaos meets confusion, and two completely mismatched men seem to be stuck in the middle of it all", according to a press release.

Hirani, who is the creator-producer of the show, said the long-format space gave him the opportunity to spend more time with the characters and explore their journey.

"I've always enjoyed stories where very different people are forced to come together and navigate life in unexpected ways. 'Pritam and Pedro' has a lot of humour, warmth and madness in that sense," said the director, who serves as the creator and producer on the show.
