Mumbai | Tamil superstar Rajinikanth's much-awaited film with actor-producer Kamal Haasan's production banner has been titled "Dharman", the makers announced on Wednesday.
The film's first-look poster was unveiled during a pooja ceremony held in Chennai. Backed by Kamal Haasan's Raaj Kamal Films International, the film will be directed by filmmaker Ashwath Marimuthu of "Oh My Kadavule" and "Dragon" fame, confirming reports that he has replaced "Don" director Cibi Chakaravarthi on the project.
The first-look poster features Rajinikanth dressed as a surgeon holding a holding blood-stained scalpel. The tagline on the poster read "The Deadly Doctor".
The film also stars Simran, Raashi Khanna and Yogi Babu in pivotal roles. Music is composed by Anirudh Ravichander, while Niketh Bommi serves as cinematographer and Pradeep E Ragav as editor.
The film, earlier referred to as "Thalaivar 173", marks another collaboration between Rajinikanth and Kamal Haasan, who are also set to reunite on an upcoming film directed by Nelson.
