'I am fine': Amitabh Bachchan clarifies cryptic post about hospitalisation, surgery

Megastar Amitabh Bachchan has clarified that his recent blog post about hospitalisation, surgery and intensive care was not about his own health, saying people had "assumed incorrectly" that he was referring to himself.

Mumbai | Megastar Amitabh Bachchan has clarified that his recent blog post about hospitalisation, surgery and intensive care was not about his own health, saying people had "assumed incorrectly" that he was referring to himself.

The 83-year-old actor, whose cryptic post on Tuesday sparked concern among fans, said the post was inspired by Argentina's recent defeat to Spain in the FIFA World Cup final.

"I am fine .. misunderstood post .. I was giving an example," Bachchan said in the new post on Tuesday night.

He said the post used recovery after surgery as a metaphor for the emotional and physical toll a champion endures after a crushing defeat, referring to Argentina captain Lionel Messi in the wake of the World Cup final loss.

"That the period after a surgery or ICU incident the most difficult time is when you come home .. and have to deal with your damaged condition," he wrote.

"So .. when a Champion loses, the most difficult time is dealing with yourself in its aftermath .. Ref. Argentina loss and Messi as Champion that lost. People have assumed its reference to me .. assumed incorrectly," the actor added.

On Tuesday morning, Bachchan had shared a blog post mentioning "hospital", "surgery" and "ICU", prompting speculation about his health. However, the post did not explicitly state that he had undergone any medical procedure.

The actor was seen greeting fans outside his Mumbai residence on Sunday as part of his weekly interaction with admirers.
