Assam Showcases Investment Potential at Mumbai Roadshow Ahead of Advantage Assam 2.0

Mumbai: Assam Chief Minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma led a high-profile roadshow in Mumbai to promote the upcoming Advantage Assam 2.0 Investment and Infrastructure Summit in Guwahati on February 25-26, 2025.

Organized by the Assam Industrial Development Corporation Ltd. (AIDC), the event spotlighted Assam's rapid economic transformation, investment-friendly policies, and opportunities in infrastructure, renewable energy, agri-processing, and tourism.

Dr. Sarma highlighted Assam’s strategic location as India’s gateway to Southeast Asia, underscoring its potential as a trade and cultural hub. He noted significant investments in roads, railways, and digital connectivity, exceeding ₹65,000 crore since 2014.

Preceding the roadshow, Government-to-Business (G2B) meetings on January 4-5 saw engagements with major conglomerates, including Tata Group, Adani Group, and Mahindra Group, exploring partnerships in green industries and manufacturing.

The Chief Minister emphasized Assam’s unique single-line investment policy and invited investors to the February summit, promising a tailored, supportive business environment.

With ambitious goals to double its GSDP to $143 billion by FY 2029-30 and foster cross-border trade with ASEAN and SAARC nations, Assam is positioning itself as a key economic player in the region.

The Advantage Assam 2.0 Summit will feature policy discussions, investment opportunities, and cultural showcases like the Jhumur dance, blending economic ambition with cultural pride.
